Fort Wainwright Family Housing

As a member of the successful team competing for this U.S. Army Engineers District, Alaska design-build project, Helix Design Group was responsible for architecture; interior design; sustainable design coordination; construction support; and design team coordination support. Helix developed the new design concept based on the U.S. Army Corps’ basic requirements. With Osborne Construction Co. as the General Contractor and design-build team sponsor, the project was designed and built-in record time: approximately 15 months.

The complex consists of 67, two-story, 2,615 SF units. In the center is an open quad, the “Town Green,” with a park and playground. This project received numerous awards, including the prestigious U.S. Army Corps of Engineers “Project Delivery Team Award” in 2007.
