Wendy’s

Wendy’s introduced its new ‘Ultra-Modern’ building design and Helix Design Group worked on updating several locations in Washington. One component of the new design is an exterior façade that introduces more visual transparency into customer dining areas. Dominant horizontal and vertical shapes and forms with bold colors and contrasting materials are a substantial change from Wendy’s more traditional building designs.

The design was modified to ensure that it complied with the City Planning Department’s design guidelines. Design elements affected included, canopies over entry doors, required transparency along each building side, a pedestrian pathway to public streets, as well as variation of materials and finishes.
